New Multi-Storey Mill Tower

A. C. Bacon Engineering Ltd are pleased to be working with T H White Projects to deliver a new Oat Milling Facility on the outskirts of Kettering.

Our scope of works entail the supply and installation of structural steelwork, metal floor decking, roof & wall cladding, main access doors, personnel doors, internal partitions and application of intumescent paint.

So far, we have delivered to site and installed circa 450 tonnes of fabricated and primed hot-rolled steelwork comprising of structural steelwork and metal floor decking. We have also installed 3000m2 of composite roof cladding and 2000m2 of composite wall cladding (supplied by the Euroclad group).

The design team opted for Eurobond, Rockspan extra cladding panels for the external walls. This has eliminated the requirement of cold-rolled cladding rails to the majority of the building as these panels are fixed directly to the steelwork, providing a clean finish to the inside of the building.

In total, there is circa 786 tonnes of hot-rolled steelwork, 21 tonnes of cold-rolled purlins and 13,000m2 of roof & wall cladding.

The Mill Tower is now completed and the warehouse framing is already fully clad.

The new Oat Milling Facility will become one of the largest of its kind in the UK.
